Christenings

During a christening a child or adult is baptised. It's the first step of an amazing journey with God, parents, godparents, friends, family and the Church. You don't have to have been christened yourself, and you don't have to have been a regular churchgoer. Christening’s are free and do not come at a cost.

You are always able have your child christened in your local church. Fill in the contact form below to make an enquiry, or call the parish office. You will then meet the Vicar to talk through the service, find a date, and answer any questions you may have.

Whether you’re exploring the possibility of a christening or whether you’ve already decided, our Vicar will be delighted to hear from you.

Weddings

Congratulations on your engagement! An exciting and happy time lies ahead and there will be so much to think about. If you’re wondering how to make a start on all the planning and preparations for the service, you’ve come to the right place! To get married at the Tower you will either need to live in the parish, or have what’s called a ‘qualifying connection’. This is because Church of England weddings are legal weddings (priests are also legally registrars) and so certain legal requirements need to be met. If you wish to get married at the Tower, but are concerned about your eligibility, don’t be! Just simply get in touch with the Vicar to discuss your options.

The cost of a church wedding varies depending what you would like to include in the service. All basic church weddings have the same fee, but there are optional add-ons, for example if you wanted an organist, or either our nationally renowned choir or bell ringing team. A list of fees can be found in the link below.

If you are interested or have any questions about a wedding at the Tower, our Vicar would love to hear from you. Congratulations again!

Funerals

If someone you know and love has died or is dying, we are here to support you all the way. Funerals at the Tower are normally organised through a funeral director of your choice. However, if you wished to be in touch with our Vicar directly, you are more than welcome to do so.
